Fall TV Review Preview

Last week, I took an E! Online columnist to task for writing a particularly gutless, possibly dishonest review of NBC’s new show “Whitney.” You can read my original post here if you want the whole sordid story. In the days since then, I’ve closely monitored the site’s fall preview articles, and I may owe the writer of that article an apology. It would appear she’s part of a larger conspiracy.

Of the site’s three “ratings” for the new fall shows (“Watch It!,” “DVR It!,” and “Skip It!”), E! Online has handed out 13 “Watch It!s”, 5 “DVR It!s” and only 2 “Skip It!s.” This leads me to the conclusion that this is either the best season of fall television ever, or E! Online (and most of the media as a whole) is a pretty gutless organization.

So I’m here to announce my Fall TV Review! For reasons possibly bordering on insanity, I’ve decided to watch every new show on the four major networks (sorry CW, but the line had to be drawn) and bring you my own recommendations. Each TV show will fall into my own three categories: “Ok, I’m Digging It,” “Ooh, Not Sure About That” and “Sucks Balls.” 23 honest recommendations from an unfetered psyche.

The new season starts tomorrow and I am proudly looking forward to bringing you the raw, truthful opinions that the mainstream entertainment media are too afraid to print. I am swayed only by my conscience. And my love of the shows that my friends work on.

Which reminds me, don’t forget to watch the season premiere of “Community,” Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8/7 Central, only on NBC.
